Sometimes Strength Means Asking for Help: Tuesday Morning with Lynn Pritchard

Hello, everyone.

Many of us were taught that being strong means handling everything ourselves. We keep working, smiling and telling everyone that we are fine—even when life feels overwhelming behind the scenes.

I have always been someone who helps others. Through Spiritual Uplifts, I have listened to people, offered guidance and tried to create a place where everyone feels welcomed. But one of the hardest lessons I am learning is that the people who help others sometimes need help too.

My husband has temporarily stepped away from his regular job and income so that we can finish remodeling Spiritual Uplifts. He has been working hard to improve the store and help us create the future we have imagined for it. We believe in what we are building, but living without his regular income has been much more difficult and stressful than I expected.

My father is 79, and I help support him. He also loves being part of Spiritual Uplifts. The store gives him purpose, keeps him connected to people and gives him something meaningful to look forward to. Seeing how happy he is at the store reminds me that Spiritual Uplifts is about much more than selling products—it is part of our family and our community.

This experience is teaching me that asking for help is not a sign of failure. Sometimes it means being brave enough to tell people the truth and allowing them the opportunity to show that they care.

Bring your children or grandchildren crystal mining, make your own candle, create a bracelet, shop for a special gift or book a reading or service. You can also help without spending money by sharing our posts, leaving us a review or telling a friend about our store.

I am not asking anyone to spend more than they can afford, and I never want anyone to feel pressured. I am simply asking those who already enjoy and believe in Spiritual Uplifts to remember us when deciding where to shop or spend time with their families.

The lesson I am learning is that no one builds something meaningful entirely alone. Small businesses survive because communities choose to support them. Every visit, purchase, appointment, shared post and kind recommendation makes a genuine difference to my family.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout the years. We need that support more than ever right now, and we are deeply grateful for every person who walks through our doors.
