When Life Is Under Construction: Tuesday Morning with Lynn

Right now, Spiritual Uplifts is still under construction. My husband has decided to take

another month off work so he can keep remodeling the store. We are excited about what we are creating, but I will be honest—living and working through construction is not always easy.

There is noise, dust, misplaced items, and a long list of things that still need to be completed. Some days, we make tremendous progress. Other days, one small problem can take hours to solve. It can feel as though we have worked all day without moving forward at all.

The experience has reminded me that life can feel the same way.

Sometimes, we enter a period when everything seems unsettled. The life we once knew no longer fits us, but the life we are creating is not ready yet. We find ourselves standing somewhere between the old and the new, wondering whether we are making progress.

Growth does not always look beautiful while it is happening. Before a room can be transformed, things may need to be removed, repaired or rearranged. Walls may need to be opened. Old problems that were hidden beneath the surface may finally be revealed.

The same thing happens within us.

When we begin healing, we may uncover emotions we thought we had already handled. When we establish healthier boundaries, some relationships may change. When we decide that we deserve something better, we may need to release familiar habits, situations or people that no longer support the person we are becoming.

This does not mean that we are failing. It means that our lives are under construction.

We often want transformation to happen quickly. We want to wake up feeling healed, confident and certain about the future. But meaningful change usually happens one decision, one lesson, and one small step at a time.

Some days you'll feel strong and hopeful. There may also be days when you question everything. Both are part of the process. You do not need to have every answer today. You only need to keep taking the next honest step.

If your life currently feels messy or unfinished, try not to judge yourself by what things look like in this moment. An unfinished room is not a ruined room. An unfinished chapter is not a failed story. Sometimes, the disorder around you is evidence that something important is being rebuilt.

Ask yourself: What part of my life is ready to be renewed? What am I holding onto simply because it is familiar? What kind of life am I trying to create beneath all this temporary uncertainty?

While Spiritual Uplifts continues to change, we are grateful for everyone who walks through our doors, supports our store, and believes in what we are building. Your support allows us to keep growing and creating a place where people can explore, learn, heal and feel welcome.

Whether you are rebuilding a business, a relationship, your confidence, your health or your entire direction in life, remember to be patient with yourself. Construction takes time, but that does not mean nothing is happening. You are not falling apart. You are making room. You are rebuilding.

You are becoming.

And sometimes, the most beautiful transformations begin during the seasons that look the most unfinished.
