I came across these sayings online recently, and for some reason, they really stayed with me. Sometimes you read a few simple words, and they speak directly to your soul at the exact moment you need them.

“Call who calls you.
Love who loves you.
Support who supports you.
Ignore who ignores you.
And never chase people who are comfortable losing you.”
The older I get, the more I understand the importance of protecting your peace and your energy. For a long time, I think many of us try to hold onto relationships, friendships, or connections because we remember who people used to be or because we hope things will change. But one of the hardest life lessons is realizing that real love, friendship, and support should never feel one-sided.
I also read something else that hit me deeply:
“If you see your friend standing beside the person who hurt you, then they are not truly your friend.”
That may sound harsh, but sometimes the truth is uncomfortable before it becomes healing.
At the same time, I want to say something important. I believe in loving your family whenever possible and appreciating the people who truly care about you. Family is precious, and none of us is perfect. Relationships take forgiveness, understanding, growth, and communication. This message is not about pushing people away or encouraging separation from family. It’s about recognizing unhealthy patterns, protecting your peace, and choosing friendships and connections wisely.
We do not choose our family, but we do choose the people we allow into our hearts outside that circle.
As someone who works in spirituality and healing, I’ve learned that energy matters. The people around us affect our peace, our confidence, and even our ability to grow. Not everyone is meant to stay in our lives forever, and that’s okay. Some people are lessons, while others are blessings.
I think part of spiritual growth is learning when to stop chasing approval, stop over-explaining yourself, and stop fighting to keep people who are comfortable walking away.
The right people will love you naturally.
They will support you without jealousy.
They will protect your heart instead of testing it.
And most importantly, you should never have to beg anyone to see your value.
Protect your peace.
Protect your energy.
Love your family.
And choose your friends wisely.
—Love you all Lynn
